David Miller Leadership, Security and Resilience
Dave has over 30 years of operational leadership experience in the public and private sector.
He spent over 20 years as senior leader in UK policing before completing his service at Chief Officer level having worked in police forces and national agencies. He is now a consultant specialising in senior selection, leadership coaching, security and resilience. He works with government and international development agencies at strategic level in the UK and in some of the most challenging parts of the world, helping them deal with complex issues and enhance their capability.
During his career, he has led several hundred high threat firearms, public safety and public order operations, the recovery from CT incidents, hostage taking and kidnaps, provided protection to UK Government ministers and the Royal Family at the most senior levels. He spent many years tackling organised and complex crime and leading intelligence functions. He has successfully led large culture and organisational change programmes and been the executive chair of strategic partnerships preparing for and dealing with resilience challenges such as pandemics, asylum seekers, adverse weather, fuel and food shortages. He has led the renegotiation of security contracts with the private sector to improve efficiency and effectiveness at one the UKs largest international airports. He is well versed in working within political environments up to ministerial level and has been a member of national oversight boards.
Dave is a qualified executive coach, and is vetted to the highest UK level.
