A career fire fighter with nearly 32 years’ experience, serving across all disciplines and ranks within a United Kingdom Local Authority Fire & Rescue Service. Sixteen years in strategic management positions with the last 10 years at Chief Officer Level. Responsibility for approximately 850 staff, delivering all aspects of a large County’s Emergency Planning, Civil Protection and response arrangements.

Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA) UK lead for the UKISAR responsible for setting and delivering strategic direction for an INSARAG classified Heavy Urban Search and Rescue Team delivering the UK Government's overseas search and rescue capability. Dave also spent any years representing UK Government Department on UNOCHA INSARAG Steering Group
A long-standing member of Lincolnshire's Resilience Forum leading planning, preparation, response and recovery phases of civil emergencies and infrastructure compromises including civil unrest, major fires and wide-area flooding events. An experienced ‘Gold’ Commander for Strategic Co-ordination Groups (SCG) within the Lincolnshire undertaking the Chair of the SCG for several events including wide area flooding, service disruption due to industrial action, wide-spread service disruption due to snow and large fire incidents.
